Gold Country Camping - Part 2 of 2

Our friends came up for the day to see us while camping.  Their son, Nicholas is in Mason's class at school.  They were supposed to come up on our second day with their trailer but they got into an accident on the way up (totalled their trailer).  The kids were so excited to have Nicholas come camping with us even if it were just for the day.

We toured Black Chasm Gold Mine - we had done it last year and the kids had a blast.  You go on a jeep ride to get down into the mine.  I'm pretty sure it's Kyla's favorite part.  She loved zooming back up the hill after the tour and even held her arms up the entire way.  She's a thrill seeker for sure.  Here are a few pictures.

Before we headed down.

A cute one of the boys.

Miss thing.

Afterwards, the kids here on the hunt for gems.  They would have spent all day looking if it weren't getting so late.  We had to get back to camp to make dinner.  Kim, Frank and Nicholas stayed for dinner and hung out around the campfire for a while before going home.  It was a great evening.

 Kyla poses for the camera.

Mason has been waiting and waiting to turn 50 pounds and he has finally done it.  Kyla is 42 pounds.

Kyla has a loose bottom tooth.  I couldn't believe it.  Mason was at least half way through his Kindergarten year before he lost a tooth.  She is so excited and proud that she tells everyone in sight, I mean everyone.  She ran up to Mason's Principal (her future principal) and told him this morning.  She's a crack up.
