Christmas Morning

The kids woke us up at the crack of dawn but I couldn't blame them.  I remember running into my parents room on Christmas morning to wake them up too ... so much excitement.  Santa was good to them this year.  He gave them both Kindle Fire tablets (WOW).

My boys ...

Poor Granny get stuck on the couch when we go visit ... therefore she gets up early too.  I'm sure she wouldn't want to miss it though.

Playing with his new stuff.

All smiles.

Cozy on the couch with our tablets.

Roscoe at Christmas

While we were packing up to head to Coalinga for Christmas, Roscoe kept trying to go get in our cars.  We were moving stuff in and out of both vehicles so he was completely confused.  He's definitely gotten wiser in his old age.  Sorry, old boy .... you are going to stay at Dr. Putty's office for a few days.  I don't think we'd even have room for him!

Love this boy.

This car???

He just doesn't know what's going on now.

Baking cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are our favorite around here.  The kids are big enough to really help now but someone seem to scatter when it's time to clean up.  Let's hope I don't eat them all.

Photo Session

OK, can I just say that we are loving Christmas in our new house.  In our old house, the tree was in the big un-homey room without carpet.  We hardly ever hung out in there.  Now, we can relax in front of a cozy fire (real fire) and enjoy our tree.  Love.  I somehow managed to get a couple of cute pictures of the kids tonight.  I love Mason's face in this first one.

They look so alike here.

So sweet.

Santa Baby

I just love these sweet pictures of Kyla.  I often find her sitting by the tree to look at the ornaments ... this morning she was even singing to herself.  LOVE her.

Christmas Lego's with Granny

Granny came to town for a visit and spent the time with the kiddos doing our Christmas Village lego set.  Fun, fun.

Santa Train

Brian and I took the kids on the Folsom Santa Train.  It was fun ... we rode the train for 10-15 minutes and then stopped to meet Santa Claus and enjoy some cookies and hot cocoa.  Yummy.  Santa spent a lot of time talking with the kids.

All Aboard!

The train ride.

I love his face here.  Cute.

Kyla couldn't wait to get on the big guys lap.

Pretty sure she had a long list of what she wants.

Hello Santa!

Santa Claus pictures turned out great this year.  Loved this Santa too.

Ugly Sweater Party

Brian and I were invited to an Ugly Christmas Sweater party by my friend Claire.  I got this 'ugly' vest from Carol (Brian's mom).  Some of the sweaters were so funny.  I even got to show off some of my moves playing Just Dance.  (I must have drank too much)

Of course, Astreaa came looking all cute.  I think she had a date afterwards.

Gingerbread House

One of our favorite things to do at Christmastime is decorate gingerbread houses.  Pretty much anything that involves candy, the kids are in for.  ;-)

Serious business.

Eeew.  Green frosting.

Mason sticks his tongue out when he concentrates just like I used to do.  My boy.

Roscoe helped too (and waited for candy to fall on the floor).

And she's done.  Turned out so good!

Mason's finished product.  I the wreath on the door.

Thanksgiving 2012

We enjoy spending Thanksgiving with Brian's side of the family in Minden, NV.  This was the first year that Grammy and Grandpa were hosting and Sharon and Brian were in town from Chicago.  We were hoping for snow but no snow this time.

Brian and Sharon in the kitchen.  They did a lot of the food along with Grammy.  I was mostly grunt work and clean up which is fine by me.  I'm a crummy cook.

Mayci came over to hang out with the kids.

Brian ... opening wine.  Must have wine to cook a proper meal, right?

Setting the table.

The kiddos also pitched in to get the tables ready.

Place cards.  Her handwriting is so cute.  Of course she had to put a heart on is as well.

Mason's handwriting is getting better and better.  MASON ROCKS!!

Gosh, he's cute.

Brian and Tom.

Kyla tearing up a turkey leg.  Yumm-O.

Time for dinner.  Here's a photo of some of the family.  I'm not sure why I didn't take a picture of the kids table.  Brian and I finally got moved up to the grown ups table.
