Bad blogger.

Sorry for the lack of posting ... we had M's 'graduation' from Preschool on the 26th, company came on the 27th, I worked the 28th and then headed to my moms and my friend Dina's in the Central Valley for a few days. Brian was on his fishing trip with the guys.

We're home now so I have tons of unpacking and catching up to do around here. I have so many cute pictures to post and will do so when I get time. Thank goodness Brian is home now and putting the kids to bed for me. :) Doing this parenting thing alone isn't easy and I sure missed him.

Will post when I'm able ... I'm back to work tomorrow.

Crazy K

Yesterday I heard, "hey mom ... look at me" coming from our dining room. When I rounded the corner this is what I saw. Of course, these are my sunglasses. She is too funny.

K first REAL haircut

M had his first haircut at 16 months but K's hair grows so much slower and very unevenly. I've nipped the ends a few times over the last 3 years but she hasn't had a real haircut. She was so excited about it and has been talking about it for the last 2 days. We went to the pool today and she told everyone! I love that she gets so excited about doing new things. Before sitting in the chair, she told me she was going to sit VERY still.

Here it is. I had her trim up the length and give her some lng layers. We left it longer in the front ... I didn't want her to have bangs. Hopefully, now that it's healthier, it will grow faster. I love that the trim brought out her natural curl.
M had his done also. It's costly when you have them both done. It ended up being $4o including the tip. M graduates from Preschool on Thursday so we had to get him cleaned up ... he was looking a little shaggy.

I got K a new swimsuit today at Kohl's and she told everyone at the pool she got it from Starbuck's. Where she got that from, I don't know.
This morning M said, "I'm tired, I need a coffee." Too funny. He doesn't even like it. K however, will sneak sips if I don't watch her.

Camping at Folsom Lake

We couldn' t wait to try out our new trailer and only had one night off together so Friday night we went to Folsom Lake which is only about 30 minutes away. We stayed at Beale's Point Campground which was very nice and had a great beachy area. The only downfall was that our campsite didn't have much shade. Thankfully the weather was gorgeous ... in the 70's. It definitely cooled off that night and we weren't really prepared for it. I'm sure the kids were cold ... I know I was. First thing in the morning, I turned the heat on.

After we arrived and set up camp, the boys went fishing and K and I headed to the lake for some water play. I don't have a lot of pictures of M because he wasn't around when I was taking them.

Time for marshmallows. Both kids agreed ... this was their favorite part of the trip.

Cute one.

M is such a chicken when it comes to fire. I guess that's good, huh? We told him if he wants to be a firefighter, he is going to have to be around fire. This was as close as he would get ... he didn't even get it close enough to cook the marshmallow!

Now this is what I call roughing it. Even though we let the kids stay up much later than usual, they woke up at 5:45 am. We brought the laptop so they would stay in the trailer and watch a movie (and not wake the entire campground up). They watched Wall-E.

Our new toy

We're packing up and going on our first camping trip. We just have one night so we're just going to Folsom Lake which is about 30 minutes away. The kids can't wait to sleep in it ... we'll see how that goes tonight. Here are a few pictures of the tent-trailer. We love it.

Click HERE for a good laugh. Be sure your volume is turned up.

We got so lucky. It's almost brand new and has only been used 3 or 4 times. I'm sure I'll post plenty of pictures from the lake when we get home.

Oakland A's Game

I'm playing catch-up here and posting 3 in one day. We've done so many fun things lately, I couldn't help but post them. Last night before bed, M said to Brian, "this is going to be a great summer!"

I have a few stories to share. Yesterday while on the way home from the A's game, I was writing 3 letter words on the Doodle-Pro for M and working on having him sound them out. Well, I wrote a word down and said it wasn't a nice thing to say. I held the Doodle-Pro up for him to read and he quickly blurted out "stupid", "I don't like you" and the funniest one of all ... "butt crack"!!! Brian and I couldn't help but laugh hysterically. Kids can be so funny, can't they? The word was fat.

When K gives you a hug she says, "I'm going to squeeze you like a juice box."

Here are some pictures from the A's game yesterday. Sorry the spacing is so screwed up between the photos. I can't fix it.... I have no idea why it does that because it looks even until I post.

Seriously ... is this cute or what?

Boys will be boys.

Cute one of M inside the stadium. We had great seats.

Shrimp Boil at Dyan's House

The McMullin's invited us over for a shrimp boil on Saturday night. We had such a great time with them ... as always. The weather was beautiful and the kids were so good the entire night. Luckily our kids play very well together.

We had to have a picture of this. It's hard to see from the picture but Dyan and I are drinking margaritas out of Dixie Cups because all of their cups had been packed up for the move! Brian had to run to our house to get some.

Yum!

When it's all done, they dumped it out on the table for everyone to enjoy.

The aftermath.

K's First Movie

Last weekend, Brian and I took the kids to the movies to see Up in 3D. K hasn't been to the movies before so she was quite excited. The movie was good ... probably more geared towards a 5 -8 year old but she liked it and sat quietly throughout the entire movie (with the help of tons of snacks of course). The only thing that frustrated me was that they didn't have child sized 3D glasses and they kept falling off of her face. It is a kids movie, right?

After the movie. Pardon the chocolate all over her shirt.

M will always pose for me.

A quick hello

I haven't had time to write because we've been so busy. This was Dyan's last weekend here so we got together for fun all three days. I have a few pictures to share.

On Friday after we picked M up from school we went and looked at a tent trailer and BOUGHT ONE!!! We've been talking about buying one for 3 years and finally did it. We couldn't be more excited and have 3 trips planned already. Then we met Dyan (and family) at The Club on for one last happy hour. We haven't missed very many Friday nights since they moved here 2 years ago. We will miss them so much (the kids will too). The Club will have live bands from now on until the end of summer so it really made for a good time.

Saturday was another busy day... they delivered our tent trailer around noon so we spent the afternoon figuring out how to set it up and take it down (which is very easy). We didn't have much time because we went over to Dyan and Monte's house for a shrimp boil - New Orleans style. They lived there before moving here so they knew exactly what to do. Wow, was it awesome ... full of flavor and spicy ... we ate and ate and ate. Monte cooked the shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, red potatoes, celery, onion, garlic and Zatarain's seasoning in a big boiler outside. They covered the table with butcher's paper and once all of it was done, they dumped it out on the table and you all just eat from the pile. It was cool. Brian can't wait do this for the guys at the station. I'll post a few pictures later.

We left early Sunday morning for an Oakland A's baseball game with Dyan, Monte and all four kids. It was a 1:05 pm start time but we had a tailgate party before the game. We grilled brats, had fruit, several kinds of salads and other snacks. I had more fun at the tailgate party then game. The kids lost interest in the game after a few innings but for the most part were pretty good.

I have a lot of photos to post when I get time to download them. I've got a ton of chores to do. We've been gone all weekend so haven't anything around the house in 3 days!
