Rainy Day Activity - Making Slime

Last weekend was a rainy day so we all decided on having a pajama day.  My kids love it.  TV, games, snacks, reading ... it was a good day.  I found a recipe online for making slime using Elmer's Glue, food coloring and Borax.  Well, it started out well, they were both excited about it and took turns putting in the ingredients and mixing.  It went downhill from there.  Mason mixed it all up with his hands and Kyla became deathly afraid of it.  Why, I'm not sure.  Of course, being the older brother means tormenting your younger sister so he kept trying to hold it in her face and scare her with it.  She gave up and said she didn't want to do it anymore and ran to her room.  Ugh.

Mason never wears a shirt to bed these days and doesn't like to wear one much at all.  See the happy faces ... before the drama began.

Stir it up.

Blue slime.  Love his face in this one.  Eeeeew!

Screaming.  Terror.  She is not pretending.  "No, Mason!!!"

Pretending to eat it.  Although it's non-toxic, it probably doesn't taste very well.

The more you play with it, the more slimy it becomes.  You can store it in an airtight container for a week or so.

Supplies.

We also did fruit kabobs that night.  We helped Kyla learn patterns.

Yummy.
