Kyla Basketball

Kyla's class competed against girls from the other classrooms.  Let me tell you, these girls were crazy.  I've never seen Kyla act so aggressively.  Can't wait to put her in basketball next year.  Go GIRL!

Blowing me kisses on her way by.  Smile.

Happy Easter

Beware ... lots of pictures coming up.  For the past few years, we have been going to Chrissy and Larry's house for Easter ... it's something we look forward to all year.  This year was amazing ... they set up an obstacle course, huge Easter egg hunt, piƱatas, games and much more.  The spread of food was ridiculous.  So. Much. Fun.

Heading out to hunt some Easter Eggs.

Go Mason!

A little help from Dad ... for an egg that is stuck.

She was quiet and sneaked ahead of the boys.  Smart girls.

Her loot.

This was just the basket, he also had a bag full. Too much candy.

Being silly and wearing Kyla's headband.

Let's see how much candy I can eat before my mom stops me.

 Pinata time.

Roscoe - Happier Days

We got Roscoe in Fallon, Nevada in August of 2002.  Here is a cute picture of him with his sister.

Nap time.  How cute is that?  See how calm he was in these photos?  The second we got him home he ran in and knocked a plant over and began to chew on the carpet.  He was Marley.  Into everything .... for years.  We even had to wear close toed shoes because he liked to chew on our toes.  Such a stinker but always entertaining.

His first trip to the river ... he wasn't a fan while he was a puppy but ended up loving the water.

 First bath.

This was pretty much Roscoe ... for YEARS.

He loved to show off his big, scary teeth.

He had a blast in the snow.

 Merry Christmas.

One of the last few pictures of him while he was well.  Look at that gray face.  Miss him.

Roscoe - We'll miss you

Roscoe's health had seemed to be rapidly declining over the past few weeks.  He'd cry at night and was having a much harder time getting around.  We decided to leave him in Coalinga with my mom while we went camping because we were worried that he'd have a hard time getting in and out of the trailer.  We had no idea that he was going to get so sick at her house or we wouldn't have left him for sure ... my poor mom.  We got the call on Friday evening that they were taking him to the Animal Emergency Room.  He was out laying by a tree, hadn't moved all day and didn't seem to be able to get up.  He also was incontinent of stool which he never would have done.  The vet called us and said it didn't look good, it seemed that maybe he'd had a stroke or something.  We threw all of our stuff in the trailer, packed up at 8:30 pm and headed to Fresno (from Pismo Beach).  We had to be there for him.  Brian and I got him a few weeks after our wedding, he was our first born.

We got to the Emergency Room at about midnight and they let us go right in to see him ... and say our good-bye's.  He was still lucid enough to know that we were there, but barely.  He didn't move anything but his eyes.  The longer we were there, he started looking worse and worse ... it was almost as if he were waiting for us to say our good-bye's before he died.  It was so hard on all of us ... the kids were sobbing and telling him they'll miss him.  It was absolutely heart wrenching but I wouldn't have changed a thing, they needed to see him too ... for closure.  The kids and I stepped out and Brian stayed in there with him while they put him to sleep.

We'll miss you, Roscoe.  You were such a good boy (most of the time).

Spring Break in Pismo Beach

We decided to go camping in Pismo Beach over spring break.  We wanted to camp somewhere we've never been before and because we wanted to be in Coalinga for Easter, it was the perfect spot.  We had a great time ... Mason found boys to play baseball with, the kids rode bikes all around the campground and Brian and I were able to rest a little.  We also went tide pooling ... something we all enjoy and such a great place for it.

We didn't have any rain but let me tell you ... it was chilly.  Brrr.  Definitely not like the beachy vacation I was looking for.

We went to the San Simeon Beach to see the Elephant Seals.  Such a cool thing, not to be missed.  You can get so close to them also, we really were this close.  Here's the link so you can see when they'll be there.  So cute, I wanted to go over and cuddle them but I'm sure they'd chew my face off, LOL.

Cuties.  Why can't they get along this well at home?

There's a beautiful lighthouse ... should have zoomed in.

Hearst Castle.  I remember going during my 5th grade camp and summer camp.  I knew the kids would like it and they sure did.  Best part of the visit ... Kyla says, "It's a lot like the Olive Garden but fancier."  Such a riot, that girl.

 The Roman Pool.

Our day at the beach.  SO COLD.  Kyla insisted on being in her swimsuit even though it was 59 degrees outside.  They especially loved the swings.

Jumping off into the sand.  Looked so fun, I'm sure I would have broken something though.

 Awe, he's so handsome.

 Not a lot of shells.

She goes completely in the water ... 59 degrees.  Such a tough girl.
