The BIG day - April 12th

We didn't have a ton of time because Kyla had Daisy's but I told her she could choose anywhere she wanted to go for dinner.  Of all places, she chose IHOP (International House of Pancakes for those of you you live under a rock).  She couldn't wait to get the chocolate/chocolate chip pancakes with the smiley face on them.  We went there last year and she said she wanted to make it a tradition.  

Easter 2012

I have to forewarn you ... I am posting a ton of pictures from Easter.  We went to Chrissy and Larry's house to celebrate again this year.  Here's a link to see pictures from last year.  It was extra special because Brian was able to come with us.  We had so much fun and I took so many pictures, I just couldn't narrow them down very well.  It was a fun-filled day.

Chrissy planned a scavenger hunt for the kids (there were my 2 plus Jace, Chrissy's nephew).  Each child had their own color of eggs (filled with a clue) and they all went to different places so the surprise wouldn't get ruined.  They loved running from one clue to the next.  Granny helps Kyla read this one.

Now where do I go?

At the end of the scavenger hunt, the kids got a huge basket full of goodies and a medal.

Next, it was on to the Easter Egg Hunt.  We all contributed eggs so the kids had over 120 eggs to hunt.  Some with money in them!  Lacie is hard at work hiding them.

Chrissy ... she's one of the nicest people I have ever known and she always makes us feel so welcome.

We played a great game with the hula-hoop.  Everyone held hands and you had to pass through the hula hoop.  If the music stopped while it was touching you, you were out.  I got down to the final-four.  I must have mad skills, huh?

I had no idea how good Mason was at hula-hooping.  He can do it forever and even walk around while doing it.  It was cute, wish I'd gotten it on video.  He was quite the little show-off.

Time for horseshoes.  Like a said, a fun-filled day.

Brian had a good run but no match for Larry.

We enjoyed a ton of food and played Catch Phrase into the evening.  I can't wait until next year.

Coloring Easter Eggs

We had a great time coloring Easter eggs this year.  It just gets easier and easier (and less messy) as they get older.  We should color eggs throughout the year - the kids love it.

Kyla's Party in Coalinga

Kyla's 6th birthday celebration lasted for an entire week.  It started out with a pizza/cake party at my mom's house while we were in Coalinga.  I had a horrible flu a few weeks ago and unfortunately both kids caught it.  They had 2 weeks off for Spring Break and were sick for an entire week of it.  During this party, Kyla was pretty run down, fatigued and had a temp of 101.  Poor thing.

This was the yummiest chocolate cake ever.  Thanks mom (granny) for getting it. 

She still gets embarrassed when we sing to her.  At least no tears this time. 

Who loves PIZZA??

That right, we do.  I think we could pretty much each pizza (or mexican food for me) every night of our lives.  Yummy.  I put the kids to work making dinner ... love child labor.

New House Sleep-Over

We can't wait to move into our new house and since it's still going to be a few months, we decided to have a sleepover at the new pad.  Let me just say that I'm too old to sleep on the floor, by morning I could hardly get up off the floor.  Definitely not a good nights sleep for the adults, kids slept like babies.  So excited to move into this place.
