Oakland A's Game with Granny

My mom came up for an A's game.  We got an early start to we could hang out in San Francisco for a while before game time.

 The game kept Kyla's interest for about 5 innings ... not bad.  She's a good girl though, never complains and watches a movie on Netflix (without volume).  Always considerate of others.  Not a fan of her migrant farmworker look here with the hat.  She sports this look a lot.

Everyone crashed out on the way home.  Mom looks comfy doesn't she?  Poor thing.

Grandpa's Model A

Grandpa Mike (Brian's Dad) bought a 1928 Ford Model A back in 1965 and is putting it up for sale.  He stopped by our house on the way to a car show and the kids couldn't wait to get in the old hot rod.  Of course, I had to snap some photos. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last Day of School

The kids were so excited for the last day of school, they could hardly sleep the night before.  The years just keep flying by.  Do they look like twins or what?

Homework ... The Daily Grind

I'll sure be glad when school gets out for summer.  By August, I'll be regretting those words, for sure!   The homework is getting old ... we're all sick of it.  Mason sticks his tongue out when he concentrates like I used to. 

 

 

Let's Go Oakland

The great thing about the Oakland A's is that you can get great seats the day before the game or sometimes even on game day for relatively cheap.  Brian got up some great seats for this one, that's for sure.  Parking is easy and you can even bring snack in.  . 

 

Kyla is geared up and ready for the game.  She scored this A's monkey at the community yard sale.  Love this girl.

 

 

It's rare that I like myself in photos but I think this one turned out great.  One of my favorites for the year.

We got tons of autographs before the game.  This one is from Ryan Cooke, Pitcher.

 

 

An autograph from one of my favorite players ... Coco Crisp (center-fielder).  I ran down and pushed people out of the way to get this one for the kids. (sort of)  Kyla's favorite player.

Look at these seats ... AMAZING.  We were 2 rows behind the A's dugout!  During the 8th inning, one of the ushers pulled the kids up to some special seats right next to the dugout.  One of the many reason I love the Oakland Athletics, so family friendly.

 

 

Mason had a ball thrown to him after the third out by Nate Freiman.  Woohoo.  Lucky kid.

 

 

After the game, they allowed people to go down on the field and run the bases.  Kids loved it, I stayed back and took pictures.

 

 

The infamous Banjo Man ... he's roamed the stands of almost all of the Oakland's A's and 49er's games since 1985. 

 

 

We stopped by Fenton's Creamery in Vacaville on the way home for a yummy treat.  We ordered 2 of these and only at about 1/2 (if that) of each of them.  Really wish the waitress would have let us know how big they were.

Community Yard Sale

Since moving to Fair Oaks, we've heard how much fun the Community Yard Sale is.  Surprising enough, Brian and I were both off so we took the kids.  We found quite a few good deals.  Mason is a huge collector and treasure hunter so he was on cloud 9.  He bought a fishing vest (with his own money) first thing and wore it for the day.  He looked so cute, all of the vendors just kept giving him things.  He also found huge boxes of baseball cards (probably 150 cards in each box) and they only charged him $2 per box.  He said it was one of the favorite things he's ever been to.  Love that kid. 

 

 

 

Kyla also found a few things ... Beanie Babies and an Oakland A's monkey.

 

 

Believe it or now, Mason even found several autographed baseballs.  The highlight of the day was a Major League baseball signed by all of the Oakland A's from the early 90's.  It's even signed by Mark McGwire and a few other big hitters.

 

 

Baseball End of the Season Party

It was such a great baseball season, Division Champs.  These boys (and coaches) worked so hard and let me tell you, he had the best coaches.  Always encouraging and positive ... always.  The end of the season party was at Round Table Pizza.  Good times.

 

They made certificates for each of the kids, emphasizing their strengths.  Mason got the Cy Young Award.

The coaches had T-Shirts printed for all the boys.  Mason couldn't wait to wear his to school the next day.
