Folsom Zoo and Park Play

The Folsom Zoo and Sanctuary is just a few minutes away and is always fun to go to.  It's pretty small, only takes an hour or two to get in but we love it.  It's only $16 for all of us to get in on the weekends.

The bears were all hiding or sleeping.  Boo.

Roar.

They look so alike in this photo.

The kids love to spin around on this thing until they fall down and almost throw up.

Mason Skiing

Brian took Mason to Kirkwood.  He hasn't skied in about 2 years but picked it up again no problem.  I don't have many pictures because I wasn't there.  Mason's gotten so good, he is able to ski the difficult runs ... no problem.

He's very excited about his new poles.

Such a great photo of my boys.

While Kyla and Brian were skiing, Mason and I hung out in Truckee.  I think his burger is bigger than his head!

And ice cream, we pretty much at all day.

It was such a beautiful day there.  Just look at how beautiful the sky is.

Kyla skiing!

Kyla hasn't been skiing since she was 4 years old so Brian decided to take her to Donner Ski Ranch.  He's so good, he goes to ski swaps or Play It Again Sports to get the kids outfitted for it.  Luckily, our girl never minds her brothers hand me downs.

It's quite a process, getting the kids geared up.

Looks legit to me.

Brian is demonstrating "pizza".

Getting ready to give the bunny hill a try.

I love the big smile on her face in this photo.  She's having such a great time and is doing so well already!

Go girl!

There she goes ... this almost makes me want to learn how to ski.  It actually looks fun ... I'm sure I'd break my neck though.  Brian said she only fell a few times today and she skied all day.

Daddy-Daughter day, I love it.

Posing for mom.

Done for the day ... both exhausted and not wanting me to take pictures.  But ... look how cute it turned out.

Cole's Birthday Party

Our neighbor and Kyla's bestie, Cole turned 6 on Valentine's Day.  The kids went over for a party.  It was a great time.

Egg on a spoon races.

Mason and Ethan, Cole's cousin and one of Mason's best friends.

Determination.

The 2 buddies.

Egg toss - they went through a lot of eggs ... good thing Jenny has chickens.

What's a party without a piƱata.  Girl power!

Not sure if he thinks he looks cool in the pink headband or what?

Swing it buddy.

Kyla and Blake.  She loves these boys so much.  I can't wait for her to be old enough to babysit.  She'll be great at it.

Visit with Mom

Mom came up for a visit so we decided to take a drive to Placerville to browse through some shops.  We found the best used book store and some fun places to shop around but we realized we were looking for more along the lines of a thrift store than an antique store (personally, I thought they were filled with a lot of old junk).  We headed back to Sacramento to pick up lunch and go get the kids.  I always enjoy hanging out with my mom.

Mom quickly made friends with this horse that was hanging out downtown and before we left the cowboy said, "_____ wants to know if you want a kiss?"  Can't remember the horses name.  Caught my mom and I off guard and we were laughing and he passed her some Hershey kisses in her hand.  I personally think the cowboy was flirting with her.  :-)

Watching Mason's basketball game.

Valentine's Day fun

So last year, the kids and I did crafty Pinterest Valentine's for everyone.  It was a lot of work and I wonder if the other kids even noticed.  Doubtful.  This year we got store bought Valentine's.  Mason just handed out Fun Dips. (I know tons of sugar)  It's hard to find Valentine's that aren't cheesy, Be My Valentine, I Heart You, Be Mine, I'm Wild About You, etc, etc.  Even the sporty ones have a lame saying on them and I knew he wouldn't like that.  Kyla handed out Tootsie Pops and cute cards with stickers.  Done and done.

Busy, busy.

The kids woke up to donuts ... aaah, to be a kid again and be able to eat whatever you want and never gain weight.  It's not fair.

Had planned on getting them a little something but because they are the most difficult kids in America to buy for ... I knew cash would be best.  Who doesn't love cash, right?  And chocolate?  Mason will have his spent in no time, Kyla has quite a little stash going.  My mom was in town and gave them some cash too.  They were happy campers.

Ho-hum, cards.

And MONEY!!!!

MONEY!!!  I'm sure he's already thinking of what to spend this on.

The money dance.  Love this kid.

Happy, happy, happy.  Yes, that's a Duck Dynasty reference.  Mason and I love watching Duck Dynasty.  Try it, you'll end of cracking up and feeling happy.

Miscellaneous

Mason has been very sweet lately.  Not sure what's going on but I hope it continues.  I was just finishing getting ready the other day and he came in and said, "I spy something beautiful" ... as he was looking at me.  Honestly, it kind of caught me off guard.  Not that he doesn't say nice things anymore, it just doesn't happen as often.  He's growing up and sometimes seems uncomfortable giving complements.  I'll take them when I can.

Kyla was holding my had last week and looked at me and said, "Mom, if you weren't my mom, you would still be my best friend."  Love.

Kyla funny - She was putting on her underwear and they had Hello Kitty on them and she said, "Poor Hello Kitty, it's gonna be a bad day for you."  She can be so funny.

Starbucks with my girl.  Mason was at the cabin with Jack.

My blog book for 2011!!!!!!!  I love it.

Mason sitting in the chair reading the blog book puts a smile on my face.

While Mason was away, Brian took Kyla to the Ice Rink.  She is getting better and better.

Break time for hot cocoa.

Kyla's picture of Brian.  Slightly blurry, huh?

These two trouble makers.  Nagging me to let them in.

In the kitchen.  Big helper.

We took her easel outside to she could paint on a beautiful sunny day.

Awful picture of me but I don't care.  Snuggling with my son.
